Export 1080 x 1920 for vertical and 1920 x 1080 for horizontal, H.264 MP4, 30 frames per second. That is what every major platform accepts and re-encodes cleanly. 4K adds file size without visible benefit after platform compression for a video watched on a phone.
Resolution
1080p in the appropriate orientation is the practical standard. Platforms re-encode uploads aggressively, so the difference between a 1080p and a 4K source is largely erased for a viewer watching on a phone. 4K matters when the video will play on a large display at a listing presentation.
Codec and container
H.264 in an MP4 container is universally supported. H.265 produces smaller files but has inconsistent support across upload paths, which makes it a poor default for something you will distribute widely.
Frame rate
30fps is the sensible default. 60fps mainly benefits fast motion, which property video does not have, and doubles the file size. Whatever you choose, keep it consistent so playback does not stutter.
Safe areas
On vertical video, keep text and important content clear of roughly the top and bottom fifteen percent of the frame. Platform interface elements, captions, and account handles overlay those regions, and a caption placed there will be covered.
