A short vertical video, usually 15 to 30 seconds, that presents a property for social feeds like Instagram Reels, TikTok, or YouTube Shorts. It differs from a full property tour by selecting a few strong moments to create interest rather than documenting every room.
Reel versus tour
A tour is comprehensive and serves someone already considering the property. A reel is selective and serves someone who has not heard of it. Trying to make one asset do both produces a video that is too long for a feed and too incomplete for a buyer.
What goes in one
A striking opening frame, three to five strong spaces, and a closing frame that gives the location and a way to act. Not every room, and usually not the utility spaces.
Why the format took over
Vertical short video is where discovery happens on every major platform, and those platforms distribute it well beyond an account's followers. That reach is not available to a photo carousel.
The most common mistake
Uploading a ninety-second horizontal tour as a reel. It gets cropped or letterboxed, runs too long for the format, and is abandoned early, which reduces distribution further.
